Connecting the dots

There is a lot to learn from the  atmosphere around us. Especially the kind of political and social environment that we are part of. Some incidents might look abstract and seem they have no connection to other happenings whatsoever that occurred during the same period. But when we take a deep dive and look at the miniscule links, a lot of information woild come out.

With that initial note, I want to draw the difference between butterfly effect and domino effect. First off, butterfly effect. A famous concept that has attracted a lot of attention since the term was coined. This concept explains how a smallest of actions occurring at one place in this Universe will have intense effect on what is to happen at any arbitrary location in Universe. In other words, at the moment I snap my finger, a wave starts to take shape somewhere else and a surfer dodges it successfully and when he races the wave, somewhere in the Universe,  wind blows a flower off a tree that hits the ground and at the same moment a hen lays an egg in some farm just for a rattle snake to grab a quick snack in the wild that immediately catches fire.

Though there is no physical connection between these incidents, we have all the sense to believe if one of these actions had not happened, the world would have taken a completely different plane of future. This means each smallest unit of things, be it atom or components constituting an atom, has extreme importance in deciding the path this ever-expanding Universe should head towards which is called The Future. May be such importance that each and every smallest unit in the Universe enjoys came into picture after Sriman Narayanan, omnipotent deity of Sanaathana Dharma, took the form of the omnipresent Lord Narasimha in Satya Yuga or more commonly known as Kruta yuga.

(While Western world considers everything in this Universe has some parts of the star dusts that resulted from big bang of a dying star, Sanaathana Dharma believes each and everything we know or not know of are occupied by The Almighty himself making him reside in each one of us and also the non-living things making everything equally important through divine relationships with him)

Thus, where we are today was because of one path of future chosen from infinite probable futures considering the combinations of exhorbitantly infinite parameters in the Universe. Its just like someone turning on the natural Wi-Fi and all the elements in the Universe are virtually connected to each other since the unknown beginning of endless time.

If you believe in this concept where everything is united virtually, you are a believer. This is how we are connected to Gods through a medium called the sphere of conscience.

Next up is the concept of Domino effect. Most of us would have seen small blocks of dominos stacked one after the other in such a manner the distance between two dominos ensures there will be a physical contact between the two pieces in order to carry over the first dominian fall till the end piece falls. This is a concept that relies on finite numbers and physically understanding consequences. Some call this reasoning.

An example or better put as case study was the times when we used Dial-up internet connections where a physical twisted pair telephone wire is used to connect to Internet.

The Domino effect is contradictory to  butterfly effect for, it expects a physical proof to believe in something. Planets swirl around the sun. There is absolutely no physical connections between these planets. And we can be doubly sure beyond all doubts only vacuum fills the space between planets and sun. Yet, the same planetary actions have been happening since time immemorial.

People who believe in this concept would mostly be atheists or naysayers since the level of understanding they have about what happens around them is predominantly confined to a group of people carrying same kind of interests and opinions that are highly questionable.

Thus, we can easily conclude domino effect doesn't sell beyond even Earth,  while butterfly effect answers all questions of Universe. Butterfly effect is all about science, philosophy and common sense. Domino effect is all about reasoning and proof that are acceptable to 5 physical senses.

If a believer says that's an electricity transmission wire, disbeliever's argument starts there with asking the former he wants to see it to believe it, which ends with the believer asking the latter to touch the wire to believe it but only for the disbeliever to perish without explaining to the World how it felt.

Turning back and moving forward..

Not so long ago, I was here. A little less than long ago, I wasn't completely here. And for the past few years, I wasn't here at all. Now, I am here with life, my best friend. Quite a bit of a journey, not tiresome at all to tell not the truth ;). A bit tiresome, thanks to whoever occupies the vast emptiness that still remains unconquered humanly but spiritually, for the revival at the most appropriate time in life, again! :-).

With no knowledge on how to interpret time, I confidently stand upright with my face straight to tell I haven't been lost. As said by may in the vast ocean of past, life is a highway. And I most certainly took it through the countryside for reasons deliberately left for unknown. But, I can assure, as I always did, nothing has transformed into feed for obscurity. It might be the other way. To engulf what was unchained to moderate the best is like, in normal terms, flicking off a spec on the eyelashes.

Talking of the eyes reminds of all that which don't meet the latter. Those served the fuel once burnt to keep The Cocktail warm. Those kept me heated up, enraged and engaged. Note that I am not an environmentalist talking about global warming ;-)

A self-laid red carpet for a 'warm' homecoming!

Pondy Bazaar to Pasha..

Pachayappan took his ride to the road fuming with aggression and confident of what is about to happen in another 20 minutes. The traffic signals seemed not to stop him. When his college mates are setting the dance floor at The Park on fire, Pachayappan A.K.A Green Daddy set all his way from Radhakrishnan Salai to Nungambakkam on fire. It was the day that everyone was waiting for after completing 4 years of Engineering at one of the colleges that is often portrayed as hell on Earth. It’s a Private Party organized by the students of the department of Information Technology. It was the day that Green Daddy never expected to come his way. Finally, after floating his mind over a flood of thoughts while taking his ride through the vehicles of usually bad drivers in the city, the dude who felt like a dud now wroomed his bike right into the parking lot of Ispahaani mall diagonally opposite to The Park. While the security Guard was keeping an eye on him, he reached to his mobile phone in the pocket and answered a call that he never received and said ‘ulla iruken machi. Veliya vandhu nikkavaa? Illa Coffe day la wait pannavaa?’, and thus assuring the security he did really come to the Coffee shop at Ispahaani. And he makes his way walking out of the shopping mall’s exit hassle-free.

Now, his mind jumps back on track. He takes a stride towards The Park where, he felt if he had made an entry with a bike, he would be looked down upon by those so called sophisticated living anomalies. Walks right into the gates of Park, gets into Pasha with a stern face, swiftly moves into the crowd of which some of his friends are a part. The nerd, who is making it to a dance floor for the first time, waved at Green Daddy with a gleam on his face. Green let his finger respond to that. This left the nerd clueless and embarrassed. It didn’t matter to Green how many of his friends noticed this. The beats that struck a bolt within everyone went deep down his head but had no effect on what was running on his mind. Finally, at a distance, he saw Vega, his ex-crush. Target sighted. Wasting no time to even blink, he went straight to her and started to hear her conversation accompanied by artificial smiles and laughs which once he thought were real and made her look beautiful.

As he went closer to her, he could hear what she was talking to Akshay, another IT guy. “I wanted to put on my Gucci shoes today. But, I had no time to get them readied. So, I had to settle down for these green canvases” he said. Vega, who was all smiles for no reason whatsoever, was trying hard to make her laughs look natural. And for no reasons but to flirt, Akshay responded with a laugh. Green wondered ‘Idhula ennada comedy iruku. Even my foot won’t laugh at this even when I am in the best of moods’. Nevertheless, he made his last step towards her with a small jerk to capture her attention and that did happen. “Hey whuat? Ya here tonight?” Vega asked sarcastically. Green, who wanted to give her no time, said “Un kitta sila vishayam nerla paathu sollanumnu nethilerndu wait pannikitu iruken”. Vega looked a bit surprised. “Wwhat?” she replied. And Aakshay started “Hey buddy, can’t you see we are talking? Beat it man. Now move on”. Before he could complete, unhesitating Green goes on to say “Moodra” not taking his eyes off Vega’s. Vega, now nervous, says “hey, what d yo think o’ yo’self? Huh?’ Now, the fire that has been boiling him from within is ready to breakout from his mouth. The way Green looked at Vega made her go silent for a moment. He took a pause.

Something suddenly took him through various moments in his past. 2nd year of college. That was when he developed strong hots for Vega. Her dressing sense, her fragrance and the way she always kindles that strand of hair that drops on her eyes occasionally, the way she speaks and the way she carries herself around. Her extravagance and flamboyance. Everything made him develop a rich respect for her. Everything made him her audience every day. The times when he really wanted to talk to her but got no chance in the college. Those moments when he very badly wanted to talk to her over the phone but could not do so since he feared extreme consequences from the college officials who Vega might approach, quoting Green as a psychological disturbance to her. Finally, he remembered what he decided to do to grab her attention. And what has now made him give extreme attention to the words he was about to utter. Couple of days back, he decided to spend a day going behind her unnoticed, getting to know what and where she likes to shop. Green wanted to get her everything that she threw her stare at so that she would realize the warmth he has got for her.

At 10.30 A.M, she started off from Ashok Nagar on her Scooty Pep, then she took her way through West Mambalam and all the way to Panagal Park. And Green, behind her on his ride, was thinking she would either go to Citi Center at Mylapore or Diva at Anna Nagar. Since she almost reached Mylapore, he was pretty sure she would go to Citi Center for shopping. To his surprise, he found her stopping abruptly near Saravana Bhavan branch at Pondy Bazaar. She went inside the Hotel and came out after a couple of minutes and reached the zebra crossing and then the other side of the road. ‘oh. Parking Technique’ thought Green. After he managed to park his bike at an appropriate place far away from her, he started walking behind her with his helmet on. He thought ‘I, in a disguise, am following an angel for her blessing. Idhuku peru than blessing in disguise oh?’ He smiles within himself. She then stops at one of the roadside shops which Pondy Bazaar is famous for. Surprised at this, Green wonders ‘Iva edhuku indha kadaiku pora?’ He gets closer to her and it is a shop for dresses and he heard Vega talking to the shopkeeper.

Vega: “Idhu evlo na?” (Pointing to the red salwar kameez that was hanging from above.

Shopkeeper: “350 madam”

Vega: “enna na ivlo solreenga. Konjam kammi pannunga”

Shopkeeper: “sollunga. Evlonu sollunga” (starts packing it in a cover)

Vega: “150 vachikonga” (hands him over the money)

Shopkeeper: “ennadhu? 150 ah? yemma, vera kadaila paathuka, po. Orediya kammiya solra”

Vega: “na please na. 150 varum na.”

Shopkeeper: “edtha gaali pannuma. Somma sonnadhaye sollitruka. Katupidiyaavaadhu kelambu nee”

And Vega’s begging continues for the next 4 minutes and the shopkeeper literally pushed her away from the shop. Finally, he agrees to give it away for 200 bucks in frustration. “Saavugraaki. Engerndhu than ivalunga varaalungalo. Padhinelu 10 ruba note, anju 5 ruba coin, anju oru ruba coin kuduthutu pogudhu paaru picha case. Tholla pudichavalunga. Iva kitta maatravan sethan da”. Green was disgusted with all these the shopkeeper had to exchange. Green then realized ‘Sariyaana attu piece idhu. Vekkam maanam illaadha indha local patryka ivlo naal wait pannunom. Ada cha..’. Now, all the insults that were thrown at him by Vega flashed in front of his eyes. He couldn’t stand the fact that he has been taking tons of insults from this girl in the past when he tried to approach her. Now, he wanted to give them all back. And the Farewell party at The Park seemed to be his chance at pinnacle.

Now, Green comes back to reality after a couple of seconds during which all these incidents raced through his mind. Now, he noticed the dress that Vega was wearing. It was the same red salwar that she bought yesterday at Pondy Bazaar. Now, the reactor within Green is at its peak operational level. When Vega started off again with “Whuat tha fu…”, Green sprung in immediately just to say “Ey, un peru Venkata Lakshmi Alagarsamy thane?” Akshay, who was about to let his mouth pounce on Green was taken aback by this question at the most colloquial way possible from Pachayappan. Vega A.K.A Venkata Lakshmi dropped jaws. Pachayappan continued “Unaku Tamiley varaadhaa. Nethaiku tamilla thane kadakaaran kitta apdi picha eduthu indha dressa vaangitu vandha?” Now, Pachai grabbed the attention of few others in the crowd who started looking at the speechless Venkata Lakshmi. Pachayappan raised his voice since the music was roaring loud and now he turned to Akshay and said “Keila Gucci shoes vaanga kaasu illa nu sollitu thane Pondy Bazaar Big Bazaar vaasalla irukura serupu kadaila 160 rubaaiku indha shoeva vaangitu vandha. Machi, ivaluku idhuve romba adhigam da”. Again, Venkata Lakshmi started off “Hey bloody..” and Pachayappan now said “Moodu. Un kitta mobiley illiyaame. Adhukaaga unga appa mobile ah eduthutu vandhutiyaa. Enaku call panni unna veetuku vandhu mobile kuduthutu poga sonnaaru. Kelambi pora valiya paaru di dubakoor.” And with a satisfied smile on his face, Pachayappan A.K.A Green Daddy made a smooth walk to the exit while the whole crowd on the dance floor kept their focus on Vega A.K.A Venkata Lakshmi Alagarsami.

When he was about to enter Ispahaani's parking lot, he took out his mobile to attend a call. A real call this time. It was from his friends who were waiting for him at the Mari beach. Pachayappan crossed the security guy for the 2nd time on that day and now he said "aamaam machi. Beachuku thaan varen. Bajji vaangi vei da. Pasha entrance la oru sema figure paathen. Vandhu solren.".

P. S: This is not a completely true story. Because, certain parts have been censored to make it sound decent enough. Thanks to all those girls who choose their dresses from the shabby mounds of dresses in the roadside shops at Pondy Bazaar just to take them not so shabby to places such as Dublin and Pasha and tell people ‘This you see here is an Italian hand-made embroidery. Bought it from an International Italian dress house when I was in Europe’. They are the real ambassadors from Pondy Bazaar to Pasha!

Going abstract after a long time.

So many days. Some good and some bad and some indeterminable. So many nights that bring with the wind hundreds of beautiful and unique thoughts that make me feel good about myself. But, something was missing. I very badly wanted to know whether I have anything special in me to call for in life in the unknown future. And even if I found one today, no force could I sense that would make me rest assured that I once had that special aspect in me. Overcoming this very thought would keep me going strong with confidence. Now, I just don't understand why I started with this blog post. May be it is because I am still confident I could catch up with something good from my mind. Or it might also be that I just want to make sure I still have the expressing spirit that once squeezed ideas out of my life and mind. Creativity and ideas are to be brought out in open which will feed one with confidence. If made to stagnate in a closed cellar called mind for a long, they may fade out eventually and I would never know what I am capable of. Thanks to my Cocktail. She proved to be a channel to transport thoughts from my World to the virtually real World. And I want her help again since I feel I am as good as I was couple of years ago when I made my last blog post. This time, I want to make her look good and sensible which was what I would always try for whenever I sit with The Cocktail. So, this time, it is a test of self-evaluation. More accurate it is, better will be my confidence.

Girlssss!!

So who are they really? If you could understand them, you really don't exist. If you don't understand them, you are very close to being called sane. If you've been trying hard to understand them for a long time and feel you can never do it and still you can give it a shot, you're one wise and coool boy/dude/guy/man. Everything in this blog post comes from my encounters with 'The Girls' and also from few of my friends who are 'The Guys'. Let me pen down my understanding of girls:

1. 'If-you-can't-appreciate-me-keep-your-mouth-shut' runs on their minds all the time and if you still tell them 'Hey your lipstick appears too gaudy today', there ends your good time.

2. They are the ones who think of Mother Teresa for love, Kalpana Chawlaa for brains and Sonia Gandhi for a leader. I doubt if they really know who Mahatma Gandhi, Abdul Kalam and Manmohan Singh are.

3. They wanna be 'Daddy's girls' but they expect their daughters to be close to them.

4. They can take any seat in any bus. But, a man gets to sit only there where the sign says 'Seats for men'. (How many times have I traveled in buses where men are made to stand while women occupy their seats???)

5. You talk for the male community and they call you 'MALE CHAUVINIST'. They talk for girls and they expect to be addressed as 'FEMALE ACTIVISTS'. Who're the 'THEY' I am talking about here?? ;-)

6. If a girl saves a puppy that is hurt, we should tune our eyes so very well and squeeze hard the word 'CUTE' out of ourselves. When a boy does the same, he does that only to grab the attention of those 'CUTE' girls. ( Doesn't he?? :P)

The advocate waits around a clipped unfortunate.

My lovely life

When I say dry, I exactly don’t mean the eventless moments that you might think I am going through at Infosys because I’ve so far never encountered such a useless moment after reaching my professional home. Life was so full of life when I was in Chennai at the midst of people who speak Thamizh. Here, I get the chance everyday to meet new faces which keeps my experiences with new people fresh, sound and healthy. All I knew before reaching Infy Mysore DC were my PC, mobile phone, TV shows, late night sleeps (apparently it still has got a place in my schedule), juice shop at Abhiramapuram which is just a km away from my place, the lonely walk along the streets flanking Mylapore tank every night after 9 while keeping my mouth busy with a conversation over the phone, bananas, groundnuts (no swapping of the real meaning with what it is commonly understood as in Tamil:-P) and finally, BLOGS! Wow!! Awesome is an understatement to describe the internet with which I spent most of my leisure and it paid me back immensely! I found the time I spent on all my 437 blog posts really laudable for they became the tools for me to generate money that equaled what any IT firm could have paid me as a fresher/trainee in the first 10 months of training. My blog proved to be my window that took me closer to American dollar. Yups!! My salary was paid in dollars and my blog was my employer! It wasn’t too tough for me to strike a balance between blogging and the entertainment aspects of life that include my friends and family integrated with the society that surrounded me. It was fun earning through blogs. It was fun money. Now, I bring back some pulse to my blog after almost couple of months which was the period I managed to crawl into the world of professionals who break their heads to produce things that are only virtual in existence to earn the very real money which is the only thing that counts in the real world! I find this fact very funny, sensible and meaningful. If you ask me what I do at Infy, I would say I am being trained by professionals and taught lessons on how to create what is called software that can never be felt by touch to serve the purpose of an unseen client who remunerates in the form of real money. It sounds to me more like selling an unreal product overseas to make a living. To talk about an advertiser’s product by making my blog voice my almost fair opinion now seems more genuine and satisfying compared to what I would be doing in the name of a software engineer in the next 1 year. And they say these are all the inevitable changes one has to undergo without searching for a choice. The gap that was filled with my transition from a college student to an IT trainee was covered by a 10 month period during which I got my chance to live a life free from commitments and responsibilities. RESPONSIBILITIES. It is a big word to be used while referring to someone who has been whiling away time for 10 full months. That was the period when the world around me started to label me irresponsible. Nevertheless, I felt I was doing justice to God’s attempt to keep me engaged with some really busy leisure. I tasted life in a full-fledged attempt to cautiously stay away from giving any kind of thought to the efforts pumped into the process by the company which I knew would soon be trying to extract every ounce of IT knowledge that will keep emerging within every IT professional endlessly. Life used to be a toll-free highway or at least I was not asked to pay anything through my nose to take my life for a drive. Now, I feel I’ve reached the end of the smooth path and at the verge of entering a way that is no smoother. Now, the responsibility has come down on my shoulder to make my own way smooth and fine before I can enjoy the ride again. My life has been my best friend so far and this fellow had given everything in surplus to me to keep my bond with it strong and steady. Now, my life is done with fostering this divine relationship and time has come for my life to enter the next phase where it would test my survival instincts before it dies off. All I’ve got to tell my life is ‘Buddy, I hurt myself after my first attempt to get along without any problem with my bicycle and I loved you. I had no affinity for education and still it was thrust on me by the mere human tendencies that people possess and I loved you more. Every time I got a holiday, at the end of the day I long for more holidays so that I can enjoy you to the greatest extent possible. You taught me everything bad so that I can get a clear picture of everything good that are left out. Sometimes you gave me what I exactly never wished for so that I could realize what I really need. Now, I understand you are not about the way I live. You are everything because of which I live. So, let us continue our journey together for many more years to come. Stay with me and we can enter the dark room called future which takes a new shape every nanosecond and needs illumination to make our own way to the top if that is what you now wish to provide me with’.

The MailBox

Indian premier league season two has kicked off in South Africa with a grand opening match between The Chennai Super Kings and The Mumbai Indians. But the saddest part of the ipl is that it is not happening in India due to security reasons. But it is totally disheartening for every cricket fan. It is a huge mailboxes loss for the country as well. Reason being inadequate security cannot be accepted, as a nation, I guess it’s the duty of the government to provide security to their citizens. Many address plaques could have made a huge business profit via ipl which made even poor people to earn a living. Last ipl was a mass business income to a lot of people. Definitely ipl 2 cannot see the success that ipl 1 had seen. Already a mailbox posts couple of matches were called off due to weather conditions. The interest in whitehall mailboxes following ipl has definitely dripped at least to a certain amount. The government was totally not supporting their own citizens and bcci was forced to shift the venue with hand in hand support from franchisers. The franchisers definitely need to be lauded for their massive support to the bcci. Hopefully to see ipl 3, the festive season of cricket in India, happening in India.
