Back goes the world..

I was sitting in the class. A boring hour engaged by the Head Of the Department. As usual, my eye-lids started drooping down. I soon started sensing that my thought process had gone out of the present and it was about to enter the dream world, 'The World of imaginations'.

At that moment, in an attempt to get rid of my sleep, I tried thinking about something I felt was interesting. I started thinking about those ever-green schooldays when I keep disturbing someone sitting in the front row. I just wished whether I could get back to those days. And I just wished the world started rotating in the direction opposite to it's current direction of rotation so that we would go back in time. Suddenly, a strange thought crept into my mind. I started wondering what if the world really started rotating from East to west, which is just opposite to the direction in which it is currently rotating? Several weird things started itching my mind.

Will a fully grown tree start reducing in size gradually and finally become a plantling and will it be contained in it's seed back again? Will the river water start flowing in the backward direction and defies gravity by climbing up the mountains and go back to the clouds? Will the water that was drunk flows out of the mouth and fills up the glass? Will the aircrafts start flying in the backward direction and land the same way they were flying?

Will the people start walking backwards? Will the motor vehicles move backward when they find the signal on the opposite side flashing green? And now, the most weirdest part. Will an old man start becoming young again? Will he get back his lost teeth? Will his hair start turning black without the help of any dyes? Will the cats start chasing the dogs in the reverse direction? Will we wake up and then sleep? Will we be going to the workplaces or educational institutions in the evening and be back home in the morning?

Will we have a bed-coffee and then go to sleep? Will we take bath after coming back from work in the morning? Will we switch off the elctrical appliances to switch them on? Will the hand-written letters be erased word by word with the pen? Will the breakfast be taken out of the mouth with the spoon? Will the person, who had been beheaded by the terrorists, get his head back in it's position?

Will the dead ones start cracking up the earth and come out of their tombstones? Will the tears climb up the cheek and get back into the eyes? Will we start laughing even before someone cracks a joke? Will the chick get back into the egg? Will the language be spoken in reverse? Will the arrow come back and stick to the bow? Will the backspace key be used to type what we wanted to type?

Will the telephone call be attended even before it rings? Will the same telephone start ringing after we hang up the call? Will all the dust particles be blown out of the vacuum cleaner? Will the female mosquitoes start pumping their blood into our body? Will the ball come back flying to the bat and then reach the bowler's hand? And finally, will the clock start running backward in direction?

Very weird. Suddenly, the bell rang. That was when I realized that my mind was totally unstable and my eyes were heavy with sleep. I saw the HOD going out of the class. Then did I realize that it was my brain that was imagining everything that are weird and that it just hit 'The Rewind button'

The Magical Notes

It's such a monotonous world. We wake up. We take bath. Sometimes, we have our breakfast, Rush to work. Work there round the clock. We come home late at night. Watch some news channel. Then, we hit the bed, with a tired mind and body. So, what is that we are heading towards? The answer is nothing. At the end of the day, we have lost our piece of mind.

Some people even start suffering from most acute problems like high blood pressure, unusual increase or decrease in the heart beat rate, stomach ulcer, insomnia and several other disorders. Can you just imagine how much medicines a day are required to control all these disorders? The count makes it mind-boggling.

How good it would if we had a single good medicine to control all these problems? Yes. Infact, we have one. The magic word is MUSIC. Have you ever wondered to what extent music can blend our mind and soul? This is the mystifying effect of music that makes it superior to even god, according to Hindu mythology. Also, music is the only tool that human beings have been gifted with, by the god, that can reach to the soul and bring out the essence of life. It sometimes even brings out the sound of nature and stirs the soul around.

Music is very similar to a painting that is truely colorful. Red, Blue and Green form the basis for all colors. Sound, Silence and Time form the base for music. Not only sounds, even silence is an element of music. Silence, placed between sounds, at the appropriate positions, creates a soul-stirring music, like that of A.R.Rehman's compositions.

The nature is filled with music. The only difference between the music notes composed by the modern music directors and the music or sound that the nature produces is the time base. We humans love music only if it has a proper time structure, rhythm and texture. Whereas, the sounds that are produced by elements of Mother Nature, like chirping birds, blowing winds, frothing oceans, flowing rivers and many others, are not properly structured on time. They are quite independent in nature and do not follow a perfect linear rhythm.

When the tempo of the properly structured music composed by a musician is reduced drastically to some lower value, even the best music would sound absurd and weird and it would sound totally independent of the time base like that produced by elements of nature. This is the research that the music researchers are working on. The research is all about the reverse process.i.e. recording and playing back the sounds at a very high tempo.

Researches record the sounds(noises) made by the elements of nature, located far away from the reach of disturbing new age industrial noises, over a very long period of time, say 1 month or 2 months. Then, the recorded noises are played at a very high tempo such that the noises that covered the whole recording period would be just played back within few minutes. The nature's tune is then read and few modifications are done to make it time-specific. Finally, the tune that comes out would be called the Sound of Nature. So far, the researchers were able to recognise 1000s of such sounds of nature, since the places at which they were recorded differ.

When even the humans can create soul stirring music, the sound of nature would definitely take the spirit out of this world. Any kind of music can be assumed to be soul-stirring by just changing the way one perceives that music. The human perception of a music composed by the musicians may vary from one person to another since everyone might not feel the life in it. But, the Sound of Nature has the very life in it that anyone can feel it and get carried away by the spirit of Music.

Past, Present & Future

“One of the most brilliant and astounding topics to talk about is the ‘Time’”

This is how the teacher started the class when she planned to teach her students something related to time.

She proceeded, “You all know why? Nobody knows the answers for questions regarding time that begin with ‘where, when, who and what’. Because, noone knows what lies in their future. Nobody remembers everything that happened in their past. Nobody knows when exactly the universal time started. Nobody knows…..hmmmm” She gave a slight grin at Mickey who was munching something.

Mickey immediately realized from the sudden silence of the teacher that something has gone wrong in the class. In an attempt to hide all those left outs inside the draw, he spilled the water in his water container on the floor.

The teacher, at the pinnacle of her anger, asked him to stand up and explain to the class what he had been doing all these time when she was spending all her precious time explaining about time. Teacher reacted “What was going on there when I was struggling here to push something into all the 32 heads?” Mickey, with a low voice replied “Ma’am, I was doing something to understand time” Teacher responded “Oh. Okay. Can you tell us how?” .Sarcastic. The smart kid spontaneously started off with an explanation “You see. It’s indeed an interesting and astounding topic like you said” Teacher “Come on dear. Explain it.” Again, she had a sarcastic tone. Mickey decided to take a chance and started speaking out “Ma’am, I go with you completely for your statement which was ‘Nobody knows about their future and nobody remembers everything that happened in their past. Everything is fine. I was thinking over it”.

He continued “In the past, I never knew that in the future, which is my present now, I’ll be eating in your class. Now, at present, which was my future in the past, I didn’t expect a teacher to question me for eating in the class. I’m really not scared of being punished in the future for, I would be punished which would become my present in the short future and becomes my past as soon I suffer it. I’m so confident about the future since I know what you would have decided to do with me in the future at present which would be my past in the future and I’m so confident that it would soon become the present, which is the future at this moment, and it would soon turn out to be my past. I even wonder if I could repeat what happened in the past, which is also the past at present, in the future, then will I be given the same punishment which you would be giving me in the future, which is of course the future of the future? In this case, the mistake I committed in the past becomes my action in the present, which is the future at present, and I would be punished in the future, which is also the future of the present. So…” Tweety birds started circling the teacher’s head and she started speaking “Mickey, I understand….” Mickey never gave the teacher a chance to interrupt him and he proceeded “I would like to remind you that in the past, which was the future at that time, when I tried to interrupt while you were talking, without realizing what’s going to happen in the future at present, which is now the past, you immediately stopped me at that time which was the present at that time, and it was also the future of the moment when I tried to interrupt you and it ultimately became the past in the future, which is the past now. So, ma’am, I kindly request you at present which was once the future, not to interrupt me in the future until I complete explaining you about my understanding of the past, present and the future, which was the topic you were about to explain in the past, which was the present in the past and which is right now the past. I’m not sure whether you would teach us about the ‘Time’ in the future, which, if you do, would become the present in the future, and also the past in the far future. Thank you for accepting my request in the past, which was the future at that moment, of not interrupting me while I carry on with my explanation.” Teacher, who was sweating profusely, remained silent for a moment.

The whole class was struck with dull silence. It gave everyone the feeling they would have had if they had been standing next to a railway track with a train moving fast on it for few minutes.

After recovering herself from what had just happened, the teacher said “Mickey, you really think I would like to carry on with this topic after all these terrible things that happened just a few moments back? No way. I have no idea what this should be called” One student raised her hand, stood up and told “ma’am, you should call it the future right? Because, Mickey was talking about this thing in the future which is the past now and…” even before the girl could complete what she had in her mind, the teacher strated screaming. “OHHH MY GODDDD!!!!” those were the last words which the teacher spoke before she ran out of the class which was the present at that time and which was once the future when Mickey was explaining about the past, present and the future, which is now the past.

Time is indeed an interesting and astounding topic. Moral: Use the past, present and the future properly and JUDICIOUSLY in order to make the teachers flee away from the class.

Frames of Life

Few days back, I was discussing something with one of my closest pals that fell in the region of our mutual interests. It was indeed interesting. During the conversation, we eventually found that the topic wasn’t restricted within a specific boundary and that we were talking about everything that sounds vivid to even the most uninterested person in the whole good world. We jumped upon a theory that actually related popular mythologies & beliefs and science. More specifically, time, which is the most bizarre topic, a brain could deal with. We ultimately found ourselves starting to believe in rebirth. Scientifically put, we agreed that one’s life has different frames.

According to the scientists who go with Frame theory, life has 3 basic frames namely the past, the present and the future frames. And these frames might be scaled on a convenient basis, like, hours, minutes, seconds or even micro-seconds. When drilled deep, we would find that there are uncountable countless number of future frames left in each one’s life and there are countless frames that have been sent to the past in our lives. I writing a blog on this topic was in the set of future frames and now it’s in the present frame and when I finish posting it, it goes to the past frame set.

The basic Indian mythology and belief is that everything happens every second. Simply put, there are worlds where the future frames are alive and there are worlds where the past frames are happening. This world, where we find things happening around us is a part of the big frame arrangements. What we’re here and what happens to us in this world become the median that divides the past and the future frames of life. This means somewhere down the future frames, say 20 years, we are living at an age 20 more than what we are now. Somewhere deeper down the future, we’re already dead. But, we’re still living here which is the median frame. We are dead. But, we are still living.

In the set of frames in the past that have been experienced by us, we would be living younger than what we are now in the present frame. 10 years down the past set of frames, I can see myself younger and more playful. 22 years back, I haven’t even born. But, I’m living now. So this is how it goes, putting all the three sets of frames together. I haven’t born in the past but I’m already dead in the future but still living the present.

We ended our conversation right there since things started contradicting each other. For instance, in the worlds that are in the past frames, say 100 years back, India wasn’t independent. In the present world, India is a free country. Our conversation takes this with the statement ‘India isn’t independent, but, it’s independent’. The difference is just the ‘Time’.

It seemed interesting to me because I imagined myself to be in some other world in the past where I’m younger and I was experiencing fun time. I was even more interested to imagine my future. Somewhere in the future, I am a grown up. Somewhere in the future I am an old man. Somewhere in the future, I’ve already lived the future. Life is indeed great!!
