THE REALITY BLOG
“Let them do the talking. We’ve come here for playing cricket” was the comment of Australia’s cap, Ricky Ponting Then what are we, Indians, here for? For hardening and making the pitch flat for the Aussies to play on it? For all his words and harsh comments against the Indians, which doesn’t stop with Indian cricket team, but also seems to extend towards all the citizens of India , a strong reply has been given, though after two setbacks. But, it’s never too late.
With three games left in the series, India came back very hard on the kangaroos. Dreams shattered for Ponting, the human with an iron tongue. This man, for his aggression, would have expected his so called supreme cricket team to win all the 7 ODIs. The first one was washed out by rain. They had the luck going their way in the next two matches. But, now, after being pushed into the pits, he wouldn’t have expected the Indians to come back fiercely.
The 3rd ODI was a nail-biting thriller at the end when Aussies lost control of the match which was supposed to be their game. A team, which claims to be the best in the business, shouldn’t lose a piece of cake like this. When Aussies were 229 with 4 wickets down, nobody would have even thought of India’s chance of winning the game. A splendid spell from Bajji and the new boy in the team, Murali Karthik, snatched the game from the ‘safe hands’ of the Aussies. It was an awesome effort from these two slow bowlers when Hayden was striking the ball really hard and Symonds, at the other end, gave the former a very good support.
Though the fast bowlers weren’t so effective, Indians were extremely delighted with Rudra Prathap Singh’s efforts to send the two crucial batsmen, Symonds(Bowled out) and Hogg(magnificent run out with a great reflex)back to the pavilion, at the extremely critical time when Indians were in urgent need of wickets to survive the war. With the loss of these two settled batsmen, the kangaroos lost their stability and the tail-enders couldn’t get the best out of the Indian bowling attack.
This is an example of how people or a team of people with ‘beyond the limits of self-appraisal’ attitude go down the drain as a penalty for the same attitude. We may now expect Ponting to try hit back with these words: “We’ve just lost the war. We’re here to win the battle”
'A great come back after two defeats that would have put any team under the peak of pressure' This was ringing in the minds of the ICL(Indian Cricket Lovers). The next match gave a death-blow to Team India that the kangaroos looked down upon us and started treating the aggressive tigers as mewing Pussy cats. But, the way the Aussies brought out all their cricketing skills down to the pitch was splendid and their 3 departments, namely bowling, batting and fielding, were synchronised and flawless, except for very few lapses in the field. Hats-off to the yellow caps.
Apart from the frictions between Sreesanth and two of the Australian players, Symonds and Hayden, everythin was fine until the schedule reached Vadodara. At this venue, the Australians were made to taste their own treatment, which would be offered to the countries touring Australia. This time, it was no Indian player who was to be blamed. It was the Vadodara crowd that almost made the Aussies weep in the field. It was a hard whip on the back of Aussies, who're known for racial abuse. This time, it was the Australian cricket team, for a change, which alleged that they were racially abused by the Indian Crowd.
The problem with the Men In Yellow is that all along they were thinking that Australia was the only Cricketing country in the world and they never expected to taste their own piece of cake when they were on a tour in another cricketing country like India, where cricket is more than a religion, unlike Australia, where it's just another profession.
Symonds brought up the so called 'Racial abuse' issue to the view of BCCI and then to ICC, when BCCI didn't even consider to discuss on the issue. He says that the crowd made monkey noises when he was in the outfield. Is this the way a real sportsman would react for what the crowd did? The ears of the sportsmen should remain shut for the comments of the crowd. I guess Symonds was trying to over-hear someone talking in the crowd. Again, that is something a sportsman shouldn't try to do.
Australians are known for their racial abusings. It was clear from the Australian tour of West Indies when Mc.Grath ended up talking about Sarwan's wife. Now, they find it too hard to accept when the iron ball hits them back and they do everything to pour out their aggression on the Indian crowd. Even Mark Waugh and Allen Border aren't in a mood to support the charge against the Indian crowd since they know that it's ridiculous and senseless. Most of all, it's baseless. Do the Aussies expect the ICC to question the Vadodara crowd and punish them? What is that they expect the ICC to do? There is no proof against the crowd. Even if there had been a video proof, ICC can't pull the crowd into the court expecting a judgment against them.
I only wish that, next time when Symonds goes to an Australian zoo and finds a chimpanzee making funky noises, he doesn't go to the Australian court, alleging that the chimp made funny noises at him and that it 'Racially Abused' him.
“One of the most brilliant and astounding topics to talk about is the ‘Time’”
This is how the teacher started the class when she planned to teach her students something related to time.
She proceeded, “You all know why? Nobody knows the answers for questions regarding time that begin with ‘where, when, who and what’. Because, noone knows what lies in their future. Nobody remembers everything that happened in their past. Nobody knows when exactly the universal time started. Nobody knows…..hmmmm” She gave a slight grin at Mickey who was munching something.
Mickey immediately realized from the sudden silence of the teacher that something has gone wrong in the class. In an attempt to hide all those left outs inside the draw, he spilled the water in his water container on the floor.
The teacher, at the pinnacle of her anger, asked him to stand up and explain to the class what he had been doing all these time when she was spending all her precious time explaining about time. Teacher reacted “What was going on there when I was struggling here to push something into all the 32 heads?” Mickey, with a low voice replied “Ma’am, I was doing something to understand time” Teacher responded “Oh. Okay. Can you tell us how?” .Sarcastic. The smart kid spontaneously started off with an explanation “You see. It’s indeed an interesting and astounding topic like you said” Teacher “Come on dear. Explain it.” Again, she had a sarcastic tone. Mickey decided to take a chance and started speaking out “Ma’am, I go with you completely for your statement which was ‘Nobody knows about their future and nobody remembers everything that happened in their past. Everything is fine. I was thinking over it”.
He continued “In the past, I never knew that in the future, which is my present now, I’ll be eating in your class. Now, at present, which was my future in the past, I didn’t expect a teacher to question me for eating in the class. I’m really not scared of being punished in the future for, I would be punished which would become my present in the short future and becomes my past as soon I suffer it. I’m so confident about the future since I know what you would have decided to do with me in the future at present which would be my past in the future and I’m so confident that it would soon become the present, which is the future at this moment, and it would soon turn out to be my past. I even wonder if I could repeat what happened in the past, which is also the past at present, in the future, then will I be given the same punishment which you would be giving me in the future, which is of course the future of the future? In this case, the mistake I committed in the past becomes my action in the present, which is the future at present, and I would be punished in the future, which is also the future of the present. So…” Tweety birds started circling the teacher’s head and she started speaking “Mickey, I understand….” Mickey never gave the teacher a chance to interrupt him and he proceeded “I would like to remind you that in the past, which was the future at that time, when I tried to interrupt while you were talking, without realizing what’s going to happen in the future at present, which is now the past, you immediately stopped me at that time which was the present at that time, and it was also the future of the moment when I tried to interrupt you and it ultimately became the past in the future, which is the past now. So, ma’am, I kindly request you at present which was once the future, not to interrupt me in the future until I complete explaining you about my understanding of the past, present and the future, which was the topic you were about to explain in the past, which was the present in the past and which is right now the past. I’m not sure whether you would teach us about the ‘Time’ in the future, which, if you do, would become the present in the future, and also the past in the far future. Thank you for accepting my request in the past, which was the future at that moment, of not interrupting me while I carry on with my explanation.” Teacher, who was sweating profusely, remained silent for a moment.
The whole class was struck with dull silence. It gave everyone the feeling they would have had if they had been standing next to a railway track with a train moving fast on it for few minutes.
After recovering herself from what had just happened, the teacher said “Mickey, you really think I would like to carry on with this topic after all these terrible things that happened just a few moments back? No way. I have no idea what this should be called” One student raised her hand, stood up and told “ma’am, you should call it the future right? Because, Mickey was talking about this thing in the future which is the past now and…” even before the girl could complete what she had in her mind, the teacher strated screaming. “OHHH MY GODDDD!!!!” those were the last words which the teacher spoke before she ran out of the class which was the present at that time and which was once the future when Mickey was explaining about the past, present and the future, which is now the past.
Time is indeed an interesting and astounding topic. Moral: Use the past, present and the future properly and JUDICIOUSLY in order to make the teachers flee away from the class.
Many of those who live in Tamil Nadu might be wondering with their widened minds whats really happening in the state over the Ram Sethu row. Our not so H'ble Chief minister (I'm nott an 'AMMA' supporter though) believes in ideas which aren't from his heart but from his mind. Not exactly from his mind, but, from those crooked minds which clutched the state between 1950s and 1970s. Tamil Nadu has been converted into a political playground by these petty politicians. And, the interesting part is the discrimination that these politicians are trying hard to bring in. This discrimination is felt very hard by those who worship Lord Rama.
The CM of the state has taken up the issue to a blind height that even the central ministers started reacting to his comments on Lord Rama's engineering skills. How humiliating it would have been for the followers of Lord Rama when they heard the CM pour out these words: "Was Lord Rama an outstanding engineer of his times? Did he do engineering course?" ?
Thinking about this senseless question of the CM which is an attempt to put a blackscreen over the faith of a large section of people in India, something struck my head. This guy is being addressed as 'KALAIGNAR'. Did he do any courses in one one of the arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu? Or somewhere outside the state? If there is one human on earth with flexible principles, that would be our CM. His favorite quote goes like this:"TAMIZH INAM ENADU UYIR.THAMIZH EN SWASAM"
If thats his principle, then why the hell has he got the tv channel named SUN TV when it was started by his own family members and not 'SURIYAN THOLAIKAACHI'? If, as his party members alone proclaim, he is a true tamil citizen, what pulled him into the race of television channel expansion in other states? Does that mean he isn't satisfied with the fame he has earned here in Tamil Nadu? Does that mean he is not only interested in Tamil Nadu but also wants to stretch his regime across this so called democratic country so that every single Indian would chant his name? You might get the answer after you apply your mind on this man for few moments.
Now, coming to the main part of the dramatic story. Why is that our CM targets only a particular section of people? Is he really interested in the Ram Sethu row as he thinks it would bring in all the advantages to Tamil Nadu or is he supporting the creation of the passage, which, according to some of the tech-brains, is of no use, just to show his opposition to that section of people? Is he trying to stimulate a political unrest in the state and derive benifits from that by just promoting himself as the spirit of Tamil Nadu, as he quoted in one of his recent speeches? One has the answer to all these questions. And that is the same God which our Political Pinhead is trying to oppose. I wish future doesn't forgive liars and traitors.
