Striking hard the strikers..

The nation has been witnessing the strong stands of the truck drivers and owners who refused to hit the gas few days back in an attempt to persuade the Indian Government to consider cutting down the diesel price and exempting these trucks and lorries from toll taxes. I understood how selfish and incorrigible these truck drivers and their supporting unions are for they want the Government not to burden them with these taxations but they don't mind if their burden is transferred to the people of the nation. I can't believe that these truck drivers are totally unaware of the fact that the Government turns its attention to the people to make up for what they lose to the truck drivers in the form of tax exemptions and fuel price cuts. For once, I am quite happy with the position Government has taken in this issue. It has thrown out statements, firm and strong in their depths, against the striking truck drivers and owners and has even gone to the extent of issuing charges against some of the Unions that have almost brought the nation to a standstill. When the Government that has all along been soft when it comes to terror and releasing the monotonous "We-condemn-this-act-of-terrorism" statement, stood strong against the literal menace of these mean truckers' union, the oil companies which joined hands with the latter to make use of the serious situation to get some fruit out of the air, showed a 180 degree change in their stance and are now back on the rails to continue with their works. Now, the only pests left are the Truckers' unions which need some serious lessons to be taught the hard way by the Government. As a result of these unions, the formation of which according to me should be abolished in a nation that calls itself secular and gives out equality for everyone in front of legislation, the nation saw one of the most crucial periods of all time and still the aftereffects can be felt by the Indian society. Demand for oil all over the country is at its highest over the last few decades. Bunks ran out of oil and I was horrified to see people wait in queues that were not less then a mile in their lengths in the petrol bunks along the GST. The fantastic part of the fable is that I didn't find a small change in the magnitude of congestion after the truck drivers sought after a strike that cut the fuel supplies to almost all the places in the country. This came as a hard slap on the faces of the striking truckers' unions and Government has even made arrangements to make the army get the necessary oil supplies for the people of the nation which has now endangered the jobs of the truck drivers. As a result, the people who are badly affected by the strike is no more the people of the nation but are the very people who joined hands to form what are now considered as a flock of dumb brutes or truckers' unions. Since the unions are now facing a bigger crisis than ever before, I guess they would call off the strike very soon or the nation would call of their services which are almost unwanted now since we have an alternative in our hands called the army that has always been highly reliable. For the first time in its tenure, the Government has helped the nation by being firm and helping the people make the so called Unions bite the dust. Kudos to the Indian Government! (I can't believe I am appreciating politicians! :-P)

Rules derailed..

I hope you can see clearly who the man at the front is. He is an official in the Indian Democracy. His job is to make sure people in the society stick on to the rules laid by the Government. The rules that they deal with are related to traffic and other procedures that should be followed by everyone using the roads which some say are MAINTAINED by the Government (and still they look pathetic :-P). Hence, in short , this man in Khaki and white on the bike registered to the Government can be put equivalent to a guardian. Rather, guardian of society and rules laid by the Government. I happened to go to Marina beach few days back with one of my friends. When I was driving back home, my ride was interrupted by the flashing red signal. I was almost the first one to bring my bike to a halt just before the stop line. After the signal timer flicked for few seconds, I found someone trying to get on to the front of the lot waiting for the green using the small passage on my left which was not even sufficient for a bicycle to go through. I told myself "Wow! What an aspirant!!! He wants to be the first even at a signal!!" Finally, this man's bike stopped after completely crossing the stop line, the meaning of which he totally didn't understand. You can find the stop line in the picture and the man in the front on his bike as if he his on his way back home after winning the whole world. And you can also find that no one else in the picture had crossed the stop line. From his shoes, pant, shirt, helmet and the color of the bike, I recognized who he is. That was when I felt really bad for the people in our society. A man who is supposed to protect the rules has decided to crush the same under his feet. Several men at the same level as this brute in the picture above stand together at signal junctions just to catch hold of those who they say don't follow the traffic rules. And nowhere have I seen a rule that says these men carry an exemption from these rules and they need not follow what they say is mandatory for the public. I couldn't resist my frustration and I was completely annoyed. But, I couldn't do anything other than take a snap of this immorally molded moron. Had it been a common man crossing the rule, I bet the traffic constable at the other end of the signal would have extracted something from his wallet. What makes the difference here? It is just few things which our Government servants lack. They are supposed to be called the Government SERVANTS. But, their actions make us feel they rule the nation. This is because corruption is all powerful in this nation. It is way above people and society. When even the one who is responsible for keeping the rules intact is not prepared to stand by the book, who else can be considered for filling the most essential niche here? I've had several bad experiences with these beggars in uniform who catch at signal junctions me just to suck my pockets dry. May be this is the reason why I consider my feet more important than these brutes with bulky bellies. Some of my friends even advised me not to put these pictures here on my blog as they fear I might push myself into grave danger. But, I can't help it. I can prove anyone I am flawless just by showing them this picture which I love to keep staring at for the whole day. And I can justify whatever I've told about these roadside vagabonds. The man in the picture is just another creature who makes his living on the roads using what he gets from the society. If you still don't know who he is, I'll tell you about him. Ahh..He is totally insignificant. He doesn't have much importance for me to really talk about. I don't think he deserves any explanation. Leave it. I wish to continue this hunt for these senseless scavengers in Chennai. ;-)

Road behaviors become rude behaviors..

Driving has become a tough job for those who regularly take on the roads of Chennai. With more than 65 million vehicles, the roads in Chennai have become completely cramped and even motorcyclists can't make a way out of the congestion. Traffic police department of Chennai is struggling a lot to bring the increasing traffic under control and their desperation is blatantly reflected by their action of making two-way roads into one-ways. But, the purpose is not served yet. This attempt of the police department has in fact become another reason for the city's traffic to grow bigger. While that is the part of the policemen in adding inconvenience to the society, some people also have bigger roles in building up the annoying congestion, especially when working people are hurrying up to their workplaces in the morning. It was 9.30 A.M and went to an ATM to check my balance in the savings account. After my job was done, I came out and found the far end of the street getting too congested, as you can see in the picture above. It wasn't a one-way and thus, vehicles giving ways for those on the other side of the road isn't a big problem though the road appeared quite narrow. But, that wasn't the cause for the congestion. It was a 2-way and the maroon car was being driven by a moron, who lacked even the basic common sense and parked the car right at the middle of a narrow 2-way road. I had all the time in the world to wait there to watch the other vehicles honking their horns like never before. My mobile phone wasn't too busy and I used it to make a permanent record of the scene that was going on in front of my eyes. As soon as I completed the photo session, the driver came out and pulled the car to the roadside. Just take a look at the maroon car to the righ in the picture. The driver had almost occupied half the width of the already narrow road to park the car. Doesn't it appear like a 3-lane road with a red car trying to break the congestion and enter the street while the moron's maroon car stand right at the middle of the road and the black car was parked at the place where it was supposed to be parked? If an insensitive idiot could cause such a congestion even in a street that is comparatively smaller than the other busy roads in Chennai, I couldn't imagine the impact of such irresponsible brutes who proclaim to be drivers, on the busier streets of the city which is building fast upon its traffic everyday. If these people can understand the basic driving rules and the sense of making the roads traffic-free by following proper lane disciplines, a major part of the traffic in Chennai can be avoided. I don't wish to take the policemen to the task all the time. I want to point to the part of mistake that lies on the side of the public. Either the policemen should be efficient and strictly follow the rules of the department or the people should understand the basic needs to avoid congestion. Situations on the roads of Chennai with people steaming under the hot sun for hours together due to heavy traffic would be the result if the policemen are totally inefficient and incapable and the people are hesitant to stay closer to the rules.

The police story..

I can talk for any number of days about my experiences with cops. When I say cops, I am not mentioning to those who are responsible of upholding law and order in the place. I am referring to those traffic police officers in Tamil Nadu who are no different from scavengers of money. I have seen traffic police catching people for driving over the yellow line on the road which separates the two sides of the road and acts as a median. I happened to find another funny incident, which proved rather unfortunate for the guy who was riding the bike. The signals in Chennai are fitted with timers and people are requested by the scrolling texts at the signals to switch off their vehicle engines if the counter shows more than 20 seconds for the Green to flash. I was standing right next to this rider. He killed his engine and removed the helmet. He took out the hanky from his pocket and started drying his hair which was completely wetted by sweat. The policeman at the signal saw him without the helmet. That was enough for him to get whatever he expected from this poor man who would be around 25. The policeman walked steadily towards the rider and took the vehicle key from the key slot and walked to the tree shade available near the platform as if he is the Mr.Coolest. This man walked to the policeman and asked him the reason for his senseless act. I overheard what the policeman said and it was 'You were not wearing the helmet'. I could see what that reply would have done to the young man and he was trying to tell him he removed the helmet since it was a red. Now, the rider started to get furious over the entire thing. He said he the engine was killed and that means he wasn't driving. The policeman was not prepared to lend ears to what this young man had to say. Finally, the sergeant returned to the spot after a sumptuous afternoon meal and got to know what happened from the traffic constable. That was when they started demanding Rs.100 as a fine for not wearing the helmet. I thought this guy was cornered. But, to my surprise, I found this guy telling the two policeman that he would get the vehicle from the court after facing the charges there and demanded a Tow van for the safe parking of the two wheeler and even stated that it is the duty of traffic police not only to tow the vehicles but to make sure the vehicles are safe and asked them for the receipt for the tow service. I stopped my bike closer to the platform, about 20 meters from the place where the three men stood, and was watching the grand Tamil Nadu Police department's defaming diplomats demanding (literally begging) for money. The traffic constable brought the bike which was obstructing other vehicles all this while, from the middle of the road to the platform. The policemen started to threaten him that he would be required to pay more in the court and asked him to act sensibly. The youngster let a jolt pass through the policemen when he asked them to take a look at the sticker near the taillight of his vehicle. After that, I was surprised by the way the two policemen let this man go without paying even a single penny. I was waiting for the guy to pass me by so that I can see what gave the policemen the big jerk which made them look like two stupid clowns on the road. I was so happy to find someone literally slap the police officers in front of a huge crowd with the word 'PRESS' behind his bike. Now, I know what I should do to escape these beggars next time. Soon, you can find the 'PRESS' graphics at the rear end of my bike. :P

Red loses its face..:-P

The situation of the Central Government and the state of the state Governments in India are really pathetic and awful. When other countries are talking about space science, aliens, UFOs and time tunnels, we are talking about 2nd Green Revolution, reservations in educational institutions and other issue that would add nothing to the nation's image in the Internationals arena. The only good development in terms of technical development of the nation came in the form of N-Deal. But, whenever something good happens, a villain jumps into the scene from nowhere. The RED party had no clue about this and they knew the deal would take India to great heights which they don't want to see happening because Politics is their only profession and they can't survive if India develops and people become shrewd enough to understand the technicalities of various advancements in the nation that would be following the deal. Hence, they opposed the N-Deal and made all the possible attempts to tumble the Government which successfully survived the trust vote. Communists in India are made to bite dust and lick the grounds. This is a hard lesson for the communists who are not really following the principles of Karl Marx but have designed their own guidelines flexible to their needs and expectations so that they can make maximum use of the name communism and gain a lot. If there is a big hindrance for the development of the nation, that would be these unwanted elements belonging to the RED party which should immediately be dissolved in order to move closer to the goal of making the country a developed nation by 2020. If this doesn't happen, communists in India would make this country a living hell by talking rubbish and inflicting their shapeless philosophies which are nowhere closer to real communism on the people of this nation. According to real communism, all are equal irrespective of their status. But, our defamed communists feel that all our equal and they slightly take the edge over others by forcing others to follow what they follow and calling those who refuse to do so anomalies of the society. And they call this communism. Communists in India are weeds which should never be encouraged if you want the fields to thrive.
